Morrinsville Substation Switchroom
Complete structural steel delivery for a new substation switchroom—from fabrication and hot-dip galvanising through delivery and onsite erection.
Project scope
Responsibility carried through the steel package.
Morgan Steel delivered the complete structural steel package shown throughout the switchroom, carrying responsibility from the Tauranga workshop through installation onsite.

Technical detail
Steel and concrete working together.
The internal beams were fabricated with precisely positioned Nelson shear studs. Once embedded in the suspended concrete floor, the headed connectors transfer shear forces between the steel and concrete, helping the floor system act compositely as part of its seismic performance.
What this demonstrates
Relevant experience
Proven infrastructure disciplines for the next generation of data centres.
This completed project is part of the evidence behind Morgan Steel’s readiness for structural and secondary steel packages around data-centre power, plant, access and modular systems.
