Repeat fabrication

The first frame fitting is not enough.

Modular production depends on the same geometry landing correctly across an entire run. Morgan Steel controls the base frames, portal members, support steel, plates and coatings so ModCom can move each classroom bay into wall, floor and roof assembly with confidence.

Rangitāiki College Modular Classrooms

Morgan Steel fabricated the repeat structural-steel packages for four classroom buildings under Marra Construction’s main contract, reporting to ModCom. The programme comprised three six-bay buildings and one five-bay building, with Morgan responsible for the PFC bases, portal columns and rafters, support angles, connection steel, protective coatings and delivery to ModCom’s Tauriko facility.

Morgan Steel has fabricated similar modular classroom frames for Maungatapu, using the same disciplined approach to bases, portals and repeat connection points.

Tawera

Current Tawera classroom work continues the OMB 2.5 structural system, carrying the repeat frame geometry into another modular education project.

Modular steel is manufactured as a system. Each stage protects the dimensions and interfaces needed by the trades that follow.

Base frames

PFC base frames fabricated to hold the module geometry from the floor up.

Portal members

Columns and rafters repeated accurately across the classroom production run.

Connections

Support angles, plates and bolt locations coordinated for clean assembly between modules.

Coatings & delivery

Internal and exposed steel protected to specification, then delivered in production sequence.
