The finished building hides the hard part.

Seismic work begins with what is actually onsite—not only what appears in the original drawings. Morgan Steel verifies interfaces, fabricates around discovered conditions and sequences installation with the principal contractor so substantial new steel can disappear into a completed public building.

Toi Tauranga Art Gallery

Morgan Steel delivered the complete seismic structural-steel package under contract to LT McGuinness. Engagement began with measurement and preconstruction work in 2024, followed by fabrication and onsite installation in 2025—strengthening the existing gallery from top to bottom and delivering the structural steel for its new café extension.

New World Mount Maunganui

Called in by Alaska Construction when the original steel package could no longer be completed, Morgan Steel mobilised night crews to install substantial overhead beams and Reid bracing while the supermarket continued trading. Each shift required a complete setup and pack-down, and the installation methodology was resequenced around chain blocks when spider-crane access was removed.

Existing-building delivery

Measured to reality.

The strongest seismic package is not simply fabricated correctly. It is verified, adapted and installed around the conditions revealed onsite.

01

Site verification

Critical dimensions and interfaces checked against the building before fabrication proceeds.

02

Adaptive fabrication

Structural steel manufactured to suit verified conditions and design-team responses.

03

Sequenced installation

Steel delivered and installed around access, demolition, services and the wider construction programme.

04

Complete accountability

One steel team carrying fabrication, supply and installation through the strengthening package.

Seismic & existing-building enquiry

Bring Morgan Steel intothe conversation early.

Existing-building work benefits from early site verification. Send the drawings you have—or tell us what is being investigated—and we can discuss the steel package, access and timing.
